Since the beginning of man, man has been getting into trouble over woman.  When God saw that there was no help meet for Adam, He caused Adam to go into a deep sleep,  He took Adam’s rib, made woman and brought her to Adam. Genesis 2:21-22  As a new proud husband Adam says, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall a man LEAVE his father and his mother, and shall CLEAVE unto his wife, and they shall be ONE FLESH. Genesis 2:23-24

Let us rewind, before Eve was made, God put Adam into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it Genesis 2:15 then God had a talk with Adam, ¹⁶ And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: ¹⁷ But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. At some point this was also communicated to Eve,  she either heard it while she was still in Adam as his rib or after she was made and Adam told her. With that in mind this is the part that I really want you to pay attention to and how the devil works 

Genesis 3:1-5 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. ( subtile: NICE, delicate, sly, cunning, planned by art, deceitful. So the devils work is a work of deceitful art)  And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? ² And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: ³ But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: ⁵ For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 

Clearly the serpents objective is to sift us like wheat, this is what Jesus told Peter in Luke 22:31. Now if we look at what it means to sift, it means to remove to separate.  The serpent wanted to remove and separate us from GOD! God commanded Adam not to eat of the fruit in the midst of the garden and he communicated this with his wife but the serpent who only has the power of suggestion, had Eve second guessing what was commanded of them.  Instead of cutting the serpent off and shutting him down, she entertained him by lending him her ear and her eyes.  Even though God told them they would see death if they ate of the fruit in the midst of the garden, Eve now doubted the Lords command because the tree was beautiful and “there is no way that tree would bring death” 

She then looked at the tree ENTIRELY DIFFERENT.  Look what has been opened up because she entertained the serpent.  Genesis 3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat ⁷ And the eyes of them both were opened.  WOW

The ear and eye gate are something else, we have to REALLY be careful what we let into our Spirit.  This story also gave me insight about modesty because something wonderful and beautiful can be turned into something unrighteous all because we entertain the opposite of what God puts in place to protect us. Along with being modest in the way we carry ourselves,  we also have to be modest about what we entertain through our ears, who we let into our ears, who we listen to, what music we listen to. We have to pay attention to what we entertain with our eyes.  Example, if God told us not to fornicate (have intercourse sex before marriage) but we watch tv shows and movies with a bunch of fornication, how is God then getting the glory? God can’t get the glory because through our eyes we are slowly being sifted into believing this is ok, why?  because EVERYONE is doing it.  So if this is the norm for everyone, then what God says about fornication must be false.  ³³ Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (1 Corinthians 15:33)

Adam and Eve were in the garden cold chilling with peace and love and joy and eternal life, then here comes the serpent with his suggestion.  If Adam would betray his Father for his wife, knowing that the price would be death, then what man ISN’T weak for woman???? Since the beginning, man has been stumbling over woman. In knowing this, we (women) can either be used by God to be a light, a help meet to men or we can be a serpent. When I say serpent, look at yourself, what are you suggesting to men/women, his ear and eye gate? Are you being modest?  Do you look and act just like the world?

I understand that we are all in different places in our walk with God, I pray we are aware of the devices of the serpent.  James 4:7  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  In order to resist the devil… you have to submit to God.

Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
